FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering and is intended to provide controlled reactor starting by reactor bringing to operating power level after standard and non-standard shutdowns. Working neutron source comprises shell with located in it active elements in form of antimony and beryllium isotopes, which are placed into ampoule made in form of coaxial structure. At that, above or under ampoule gas collector or two gas collectors are arranged one above and below ampoule.
EFFECT: invention provides creation of additional security barriers between coolant and neutron source active part materials, increased neutron source trouble-free operation time, its reliability and durability.
