FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to neutron multiplier. Device contains a neutron multiplication unit with a neutron supply channel from an external source to the neutron multiplication unit active zone and a neutron flux amplified output unit, both placed in a biological protection system. Neutrons multiplication section surrounded by reflector layer is made in the form of hollow body of revolution formed by side wall, which is part of toroid surface, conical upper and lower walls adjoining top and bottom edges of side wall, which are surfaces of truncated cones with equal generatrices. Small bases of cones face each other, and lower circular wall adjacent to upper edge of lower conic wall, and annular wall adjoining lower edge of upper conic wall, located relative to each other with spatial gap. Part of the neutron multiplication section limited by the side wall and the conical top and bottom walls is the active zone compartment, and the other part of this section is the neutrons output compartment from the core compartment.
EFFECT: increasing neutron flux intensity.
