FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method of producing hydrogen cyanide involves reaction of carbon monoxide and ammonia in gas phase in presence of a catalyst. Catalysts used are made in form of metal alloys using powder metallurgy in form of thin round tubes, located in synthesis reactor in vertical and horizontal rows. Catalysts are heated with alternating current with a spiral located inside. Catalysts in heated state at 500-1,000 °C, ratio of CO:NH3 = 1.7:1. Alloy tubular catalysts consists of a mixture of iron (III) oxide, aluminium oxide, magnesium oxide, silicon oxide and thorium dioxide. Invention enables to recycle wastes of industrial enterprises, simplifies production of hydrogen cyanide using catalysts operating as tubular heating element, with output of hydrogen cyanide of 99 %, loss of carbon monoxide of not more than 0.1 %, and ammonia not more than 0.9 %.
EFFECT: recycling wastes of industrial enterprises.
