DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING CONDENSATE TRAP WITH DIAGNOSTICS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING OPERATION OF CONDENSATE TRAP Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC F16T1/48

Abstract RU 2603944 C2

FIELD: energy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering, particularly to controlling condensate traps used in production processes. Device for controlling condensate trap includes process parameter sensor, configured to measure a process parameter related to operation of condensate trap; memory containing information relating to basic value of process parameter; and diagnostic circuit configured to calculate current value of process parameter, measured by means of process parameter sensor, comparing current value of process parameter with a basic value and in response to provide a diagnostic output signal based on comparison, wherein diagnostic output signal is an indicator of energy losses as a result of wear of condensate trap, wherein basic value and current value are based on time periods during which condensate trap is opened and/or closed. Process parameter sensor is an acoustic sensor. Diagnostic output signal is an indicator of residual life of condensate trap. Residual life is based on number of release cycles experienced by condensate trap.

EFFECT: invention prevents leakage and sticking of condensate trap.
