FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine control system and method during simultaneous action of driver on brake pedal and accelerator pedal. Disclosed is an engine with a fast vacuum recovery brake booster system. In one example, an actuator is adjusted in response to a flow between brake booster and an engine intake manifold. Operation of engine and vehicle brakes may be optimised especially when engine is boosted.
EFFECT: high efficiency of braking, reduced time delay on vehicle acceleration after release of brake, as well as establishment of priority of commands for vehicle acceleration and braking coming from driver.
