FIELD: nuclear physics; processing and recycling of wastes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for generation of radiation-protective layer of neutron radiation for transport-packing sets (TPS) for transportation of spent nuclear fuel (SNF). Composition based on liquid polydimethylsiloxane with terminal silanol groups contains 30-50 wt% of low-molecular polydiethylsiloxane, 8-20 wt% of boron carbide, 0.1-4.0 wt% of organotin catalyst and 1.0-3.0 wt% of polysilazane resin. Composition can also contain up to 150 wt% of titanium hydride and up to 50 wt% of zinc oxide.
EFFECT: composition has balanced complex of operating requirements: elasticity, continuous thermal stability in closed volume with minimum loss of hydrogen, radiation resistance, flame retardant properties, high volume content of hydrogen nuclei, improved thermal conductivity, and does not require use of solvent.
