SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image encoding/decoding techniques. Imaging decoding device is disclosed. Device comprises a unit for obtaining image data, which receives image data encoded using a coding unit of a hierarchical structure, broken from a maximum coding unit. Device also comprises a coding information extractor, which obtains prediction mode information of current unit from a bit stream. Device also includes an image decoder, which obtains motion vector predictor candidates for current unit using a unit, jointly arranged with current unit in reference frame in a temporal direction.
EFFECT: high efficiency of decoding image data due to hierarchical breakdown of image into a plurality of maximum coding units.
