SUBSTANCE: invention relates to decoding of images. Proposed method comprises the stages whereat: data on the mode of prediction of current unit from bit flow is received when said data indicates said mode as the prediction with inter-coding. Candidates of motion vector predictor are defined among motion vectors of adjacent units abutting on current unit. Motion vector predictor of current unit is defined among candidates of motion vector predictor. Current unit motion vector is obtained proceeding from motion vector predictor and vector of difference between current unit motion vector and current unit motion vector predictor. Note here that adjacent units comprises first unit located outside the current unit at lower left side of current unit.
EFFECT: efficient decoding of images.
