FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is ventilation device (1) for a window or a door having blind frame and casement frame (2, 3) or having a fixed frame with air passage openings (6, 31), arranged thereupon from outside-facing surface (4) to room-facing surface (5) of window or door, for ventilation duct (8) that routes air flow (7); and including housing part (9, 30), which runs in longitudinal direction of blind frame and casement frame (2, 3) or of fixed frame over a partial length thereof. Ventilation device (1) has control element (10) to regulate air flow (7), and said control element (10) and housing part (9) are arranged on room-facing surface (5) of casement, blind or fixed frame. Control element (10) has two blocking elements (11, 12), which can be actuated by means of manual or automatic actuation in an opening or closing direction at same time, wherein blocking element (12) is in direct contact with gear wheel (22), which engages with gear wheel (20) located in direct contact with blocking element (11), and blocking element (12) is in direct contact with gear wheel (22), which engages with gear (20), in direct contact with blocking element (11), and blocking element (12) in closed position of control element (10) covers ventilation duct (8) and blocks access to air flow (7). Blocking element (11) forms visible front side (5) of part of housing (9). Blocking element (11) in cross section has shape of a ring element, which moves along its longitudinal edges (13, 14) and ends (15, 16) in part of housing (9) and forms along inner contour of its ring-shaped toothed profile (19), engaging with located on rotation axis (21) gear wheel (20). Blocking element (11) and bearing longitudinal edges (13, 14) in form of ring element cover entire visible range located on side of room ventilation device (1) and control of air flow (7).
