SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicle control. Control device for vehicle with internal combustion engine, drive wheel, stepped and stepless transmission comprises engine speed control unit in period, during which vehicle is moving with acceleration so, that engine speed increased with increase in vehicle speed. When engine speed reaches preset quasi-threshold gear shifting value, performs transmission quasi-switching to control engine speed so, that this speed decreased to first rotation speed. Performs mechanical gear shifting to change second gear ratio in accordance with gear change boundary, determined by travel speed and parameter, corresponding to request for acceleration. Performs correction engine speed control in advance in period before mechanical gear shifting so, that engine speed corresponds to t quasi-threshold transmission switching value when mechanical gears shifting is performed.
EFFECT: increased driving comfort.
