FIELD: electricity; transportation.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electrical traction systems of vehicles. Power supply device for drives comprises a connection to electric mains, connection to an intermediate DC circuit (ZK), rectifier, comprising multiple modules, electrical connection for operating vehicle in DC voltage network. Each module includes a first rectifier connected through an inverter to a transformer and through a transformer connected to a second rectifier. At DC voltage circuit is connected with DC voltage side of second rectifier of first module. Primary side of transformer of first module is connected to primary side of transformer of second module. DC voltage side of second rectifier of second module is connected to intermediate circuit (ZK). Second object of invention consists in a method of operation of vehicle through a power supply device. Third object consists in a method of making power supply device.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of weight of power supply device.
