FIELD: electric traction systems of vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: electric network for a rail vehicle comprises a first high-voltage section, another high-voltage section, a low-voltage consumer and a gate converter. First high-voltage section and the other high-voltage section are electrically connected through a high-voltage constant voltage converter. Low-voltage consumer and the other high-voltage section are connected through a gate converter. Nominal potential of constant voltage in the first and other high-voltage sections is equal. Also, a rail vehicle with an electrical network and a method of operating an electrical network are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of weight and costs for installation of electric network at reliable power supply of low-voltage consumers.
