FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and may be used at shunting diesel locomotives with DC drive motors. Proposed DM series excitation drive motors are connected to voltage converter output. Excitation current controllers are connected in parallel with drive motor excitation windings. Said controller are made up of resistor unit with each resistor connected with excitation winding of appropriate traction motor via contactor. Voltage converter is built around two bipolar transistors with isolated gate with their emitters interconnected and connected to power supply negative terminal. Collector of every said bipolar transistor us connected via one contactor to free output terminal of excitation winding of appropriate drive motor while, via second contactor, to free terminal of another drive motor. Note here that said terminals of motor armature windings are connected via two train contactors to positive terminal of power supply.
EFFECT: higher reliability, reduced power losses.
