FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: vehicle traction electric drive comprises DC series excitation motors connected to DC source. Note here that excitation windings connected in series of appropriate motor and current transducers are connected to armature winding of every traction motor. Two voltage transducers are connected in parallel with two circuits of series excitation traction motors. Diodes are connected in between positive terminal of DC source and collectors of the first and second bipolar transistors in reverse direction. Two train contactors are connected in the circuit of every traction motor. Common points of connection of excitation windings and armature windings of ever traction motor are interconnected via first brake contactor and brake resistor. Common connection point of first current transducer and first train contactor is connected with common connection point of free output of second traction motor armature winding with second train contactor via second train contactor. Outputs of current and voltage transducers are connected with control unit inputs outputs of which are connected with inputs of train contactors, brake contactors and input of first and second bipolar transistors.
EFFECT: higher reliability, enhanced operating performances.
