SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines exhaust gases processing system. Faults diagnostics device according to exhaust gases control device having both selective reduction function, and filtering function, calculates NOX purification rate, relating to case, when exhaust gases control device is in normal condition, based on solid particles (PM) amount estimated value collected or accumulated in exhaust gases control device, and estimated value of NO2 share in exhaust gas, flowing into exhaust gases control device, and determines, that exhaust gases control device is faulty, when difference between calculation result and actual NOX purification rate exceeds threshold value.

EFFECT: invention provides technology for more accurate diagnosing faults in exhaust gases control device, having both selective recovery function and filtration function.
