FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in resistance spot or relief welding parts with free approaches for electrodes. Electrode is made in the form of a rod, the length of which exceeds the value of its diameter. Rod is equipped with periodically repeating, uniformly spaced along the longitudinal geometrical axis of the electrode, primarily, crosswise relative to the longitudinal geometrical axis of the electrode projections formed on the side surface of the electrode. Electrode holder is equipped with a mounting part formed in the form of a through channel, the length of which is less than the length of the electrode. Mounting part of the electrode holder is equipped with reliefs, geometric characteristics of which correspond to geometrical characteristics of the electrode projections. Electrode is made with the possibility of its installation into the mounting part of the electrode holder with matching part of its projections with combs of the electrode holder reliefs.

EFFECT: invention provides high coefficient of using electrodes, reduced process and environmental costs of production and using the electrodes, as well as low cost of making welded structures.
