SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of providing access to application configuration functions. Method comprises assigning corresponding sets of metadata to corresponding application configuration functions, wherein said corresponding sets of metadata describe corresponding names, use or application of corresponding configuration functions, wherein configuration functions comprise user-customised settings, associated with application. Method includes indexing configuration functions and assigned corresponding sets of metadata. Configuration function search request input by application user is received. Search request is compared with the corresponding sets of metadata and identification of one or more corresponding sets of metadata, which satisfy condition, defined by data mapping function relative to search request. One or more configuration functions assigned to corresponding sets of metadata which satisfy condition are returned.

EFFECT: high rate of access to configuration functions of computer application.
