FIELD: biology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiology and medicine and can be used for the treatment of local foci of chronic infection. Carry out sensitization of foci of infection by a cationic photosensitizer and irradiate them with light at the wavelength of absorption of the photosensitizer. Photosensitizer with an absorption in the spectral range of 810–850 nm is used. As the photoactive substance of the photosensitizer use the methyl ether 133-N-(N-methyl nicotinyl)bacteriopurpurinimid.
EFFECT: method allows to increase the effectiveness of photodynamic treatment of infected wounds by increasing the proportion of light radiation, which excite the molecules of the photosensitizer in the tissues and is not absorbed by the waste products of bacteria.
