FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: determination of lactic acid on platinum electrode in borate buffer as a background electrolyte (pH 9.18), maximum reduction current potential E=-0.7 V, using silver-silver-chloride reference electrode. Determination of lactic acid involves preparing lactic acid sample solution, followed by base titration (0.01-0.1M KOH) with simultaneous recording of maximum lactic acid reduction current, and plotting amperometric titration graph for determination of the equivalence point and alkali volume, used for the lactic acid titration. The disclosed method may be used for lactic acid determination within a concentration range of 3.0⋅10-5-1⋅10-1 mol/dm3.
