FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry of organic substances and discloses a method for determining the content of nitroxide radicals in feed streams of unsaturated monomers. Method comprises preparation of solutions of nitroxyl radicals in a solvent with a predetermined concentration, registration of the peak with respect to the current of the voltammetric curve at potentials Ea equal to from minus 630 to minus 640 mV and Ec equal to 700 to 710 mV relative to the silver reference electrode, construction on the basis of the obtained data of the calibration dependence in coordinates: along the ordinate axis – concentration (mln-1), along the abscissa – the sum of the currents (nA), and the determination of the content of nitroxide radicals in the sample under study by recording the peaks and calculating the content according to the graph of the calibration curve.
EFFECT: invention allows creation of appropriate controls in various manufacturing processes associated with the use of nitroxide radicals in raw petrochemical streams, mainly unsaturated monomers – isoprene, divinyl, styrene, cyclopentadiene, dicyclopentadiene, alpha-olefins.
