FIELD: physics, measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to techniques for evaluation of physical and mechanical properties of the material by indentation. Essence: provides interaction between the indenter and the sample material, and the subsequent investigation of the dicing trace. The sample is used with investigated surface represented by an external body of rotation, preferably a cylinder. Slots of corresponding sizes and shapes are made in the sample. The required depth of the dicing trace at the indenter entrance and/or exit is provided by slot arrangement relative to the path of indenter pendulum swinging motion.
EFFECT: invention provides enhanced technological capabilities of the pendulum dicing method in order to ensure the possibility of varying the pendulum scribing trace parameters, namely the depth of indenter penetration at entrance and exit from the sample material, trace length, etc.
