FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device contains a pendulum mounted on the swing axis, carrying an indentor, a sample in the form of a cylinder located and fixed under the indenter in the rigging. The tool for orientation and fixing the specimen is mounted on the table of the device and contains a prism whose lateral generators are not parallel to its base and are inclined relative to the pendulum swing axis so that the axis of the sample installed in the prism and the swing axis of the pendulum cross in a vertical plane, and the rigging with the table installed in such a way that the axis of the sample and the swing axis of the pendulum cross in a horizontal plane at an angle of 90°, or an angle other than 90°, at any angle of their crossing in the vertical plane.
EFFECT: expansion of technical capabilities of the device for pendulum scribing.
