FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: wooden round handrail turning element is made as a part of an open torus bounded by two ends in planes passing through the torus axis and forming an angle α of not more than 90°, has a through opening formed by two openings with axes perpendicular to its ends and intersecting at an angle of 180° - α and, if necessary, a cylindrical recess in the center of one or both ends, the axis of which is perpendicular to the end face. A wooden handrail, comprising at least one turning element of the said structure, at least one rectilinear part of the handrail, if necessary, a handrail end with a cylindrical recess, if necessary, to form handrail rotation - one or more straight elements with a through hole and cylindrical recesses in the end centers, and a fixing alignment system comprising straight and curved threaded rods, washers to align elements and connecting nuts installed thereon. The thickness of washer installed at the site of alignment of elements that form the handrail turn, is greater than one but less than two values of the cylindrical recess depth, and the thickness of washer, installed at the site of turning element alignment with a rectilinear part of the handrail does not exceed the cylindrical recess depth. At the end of the rectilinear portion of the handrail, a threaded rod in the form of a screw is installed, and the bent threaded rod placed in the through opening of the turning element, which is the last in the handrail turn, and is aligned with the rectilinear portion of the handrail, is shortened.

EFFECT: increased design reliability, simplified assembly, expanded possibilities of handrail structures formation, improved aesthetic and ergonomic properties due to the absence of visible metal parts.
