FIELD: automotive industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to passive safety appliances for public transport passengers. Proposed handrail consists of two flexible elements. Rectangular-section base insert is arranged between aforesaid flexible elements and covered, on its both sides, by detachable covers made from transparent material and furnished with narrow slot to receive ID cards. Aforesaid base insert consists of two identical aligned halves, each having an alignment plane with vertical recess to house flexible elements ends for them and said halves to be jointed together. Each half has, on the other side of alignment plane, a convex surface formed by vertical straight line moving along the radius from one side of rectangle to the opposite one to form two parallel planes, segments, that define the base insert height. Aforesaid segments feature two rectangular recesses arranged at their top and bottom to receive appropriate ledges of detachable covers. The said covers have alignment planes formed by rectangular frames that are aligned with alignment planes of aligned halves of base inserts. Both halves have, on the other side of alignment plane, a convex surface formed by vertical straight line moving along the radius from one side of rectangle to the opposite one to form two parallel planes, segments that define the base insert.
