FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the methods for remote security monitoring areas and can be used in cases, when the detection means (DM) are used with an extended detection area (EDA), built on the principles of radio-beam or infrared detection, for signal covering the T-junction crossroads. The method is to deploy two DMs with the EDAs on the T-junction crossroads so that each of them covers the both roads, the distances, passed by a violator through the crossroad in the given direction from the first to the last EDA, are the same for all directions and that their EDAs are crossed on the adjacent road, in ensuring the registration by the signal receiving instrument, analyzing and presenting information of the first alarm signal from the DM at the emergence of a violator on the crossroad, as well as the beginning of the time interval keeping; ensuring the registration of the subsequent alarm signals from the corresponding DMs; applying the algorithm that determines the traffic direction by the sequence of two single alarm signals received separately, or by the sequence of two signals received simultaneously, and one single alarm signal in accordance with the direction conformity table of the violator movement. The method comprises a preparatory stage of deploying the DM according to the statutory scheme and a main stage, which begins from the moment of crossing the EDA by a violator. During the main stage, the movement direction is determined by the developed algorithm.

EFFECT: increasing the efficiency and reliability of the conclusion about the movement direction of the violator.
