FIELD: surveillance.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for security area monitoring and can be used in cases of application of dual-beam passive infrared means of detection (SO) for signalling control of the traffic network. Method consists in deploying two SOs at a T-junction so that the optical axis of the detection zone (ZO) of each SO crosses two roads, one SO is located near the main road, the other SO is located near the adjacent road, and the optical axes of the SOs intersect on the adjacent road; the minimum permissible distance from the SO to the road farthest therefrom is then set, wherein the ZO of the person crosses only the nearest road, and the ZO of the automobile crosses the nearest and the farthest roads; the maximum time for accumulation of signals from the SO by the information collection and processing system (SSOI) from the moment of reception of the first alarm signal is set based on the minimum possible speed of the person in the road and the distance traversed by the person between the ZOs of the means of detection. The signals from the SO are then recorded by the SSOI, the SO of the offender is detected and their sides of movement relative to the centre of the junction when the offender is crossing the ZO are detected. An algorithm is applied, recognising the type of offender — a driving offender (NA) or a pedestrian offender (PN), and determining the direction of movement thereof by one, two, or three alarm signals received from the SO, the sequence of transmission of said alarm signals from the SO and the sides of the movement of the offender relative to the centre of the T-junction specified thereby for the set maximum time of accumulation of alarm signals.
EFFECT: provided possibility of recognising the type of offender — PN or NA, with a low probability of error.
