FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: when casting the parts from aluminium alloys, along with permissible defects, there are separate pores and cavities with the depth of 1-3 mm, which are unacceptable according to the parts operation conditions. The development of high-speed aviation renders new requirements to the aircrafts external surfaces quality. For leveling the aircrafts outer surface, the filling materials are widely used. The filling materials are used to level the cracks, gaps, steps on the outer surface of the aircraft, as well as the unevenness in the places of fastening joints. The result of the proposed invention is the development of the metal-polymer composition with high adhesion to the surface, increased impact strength, elasticity while tension at the operating temperatures from -60 up to 150°C, as well as good technological characteristics and low shrinkage when curing the composition. The proposed invention usage for the leveling of such surface defects as steps, gap in the skin joints, unevenness in the places of fastening joints, greatly facilitates the fitting of the parts during assembly, and also contributes to the aerodynamic characteristics increase and to the anti-corrosion products protection reliability increase.
EFFECT: using of high-strength filling material, when sealing the casting defects, contributes to the part durability due to the fact, that the cured layer of the metal-polymer composition, having the high strength, slows down the microcracks growth, occurring when casting defects are formed.
