INTERACTIVE TOOL OF SELECTING CONTACT LENSES FOR PATIENT AND METHODS OF THEIR SELECTION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B3/00

Abstract RU 2618160 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: interactive tool to optimize the selection of contact lenses is intended to appoint contact lenses for the patients with presbyopia based on the refraction data and the dominance of one of the eyes, as well as on the patient's reviews on the desired vision measurements. Herewith the tool is an electronic device having a data processor for performing calculations, a memory for storing data or images, as well as data input means and a display. Herewith the tool for selecting contact lenses, comprises: a plurality of images, each of which contains a single image showing a range of the visual acuity at various distances to be displayed for the patient on the display as a separate image; a plurality of tables with the contact lens parameters introduced into the interactive tool for selecting the contact lenses, each of which contains the anticipated pair of the contact lenses based on the patient's needs and preferences, and the set of the tables are correlated with the plurality of the images, wherein each table comprises a pair of the contact lenses with such a value of the optical power and such values of the additional optical power that provide vision correction corresponding to the patient's preferences in relation to the first, the second and the third image; and a means of calculating the vertex distance and the patient's spherical equivalent, which contains an algorithm implemented by the processor of the data processing. The method for optimizing the contact lens selection for the patients with presbyopia based on the refraction data and the dominance of one of the eyes, as well as the patient's reviews on the desired vision parameters, comprises the stages: a plurality of images is shown; a set of the contact lenses is selected in the tables with the contact lens parameters on the basis of the best spherical refraction equivalent and the additional optical power of the both patient's eyes based on the patient's preference, formed by the plurality of images; the patient's vision is assessed; and the stages are repeated until the patient's vision quality is acceptable to him.

EFFECT: using this group of inventions allows to simulate the result of wearing various lenses.
