SUBSTANCE: invention refers to cosmetic industry. Disclosed is a skin cleansing method involving skin washing with liquid hand soap or body gel and water, wherein said soap or gel contain a cleaning composition comprising a surfactant and a zinc halide complex X, which is a zinc-lysine-chloride complex of formula [Zn(C₆H₁₄N₂O₂)₂Cl]⁺Cl^-, wherein said skin washing is carried out for a time sufficient for sediment deposition on skin in form of zinc oxide, wherein said residue provides a visually observed signal for the user that he has washed skin for a sufficient amount of time.

EFFECT: invention enables to indicate a period of time for skin cleansing and indication of the release of zinc oxide, which exhibits antimicrobial and sun-protective properties.
