SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a personal care composition for application to skin or hair, containing a zinc X chloride complex and a cosmetically acceptable carrier, wherein X is an amino acid - lysine or arginine, wherein the zinc X chloride complex has the formula ZnX2Hal2 or ZnX3Hal2, wherein Zn is a divalent zinc ion, and Hal is a chloride ion and wherein the zinc X chloride complex is present in an amount of 0.05 to 40% by composition weight. The invention also relates to a method for reduction of the amount of perspiration and/or sweat odor, a method for killing bacteria that cause sweat odor, and zinc X chloride complex application to kill the bacteria that cause sweat odor.
EFFECT: decreased sweating or reduced degree of perspiration odor.
