SUBSTANCE: battery control device contains a receiver of information about the electric current flowing out of the battery or flowing into the battery located inside the container with the air inlet and air outlet; released heat amount calculator, calculating the amount of heat released inside the battery, on the basis of information about the electric current; receiver of information on the temperature of the container outer surface, information on the temperature of air coming from the air inlet, and information on the temperature of the air leaking from the air outlet; heat quantity calculator that receives information on the amount of air coming from the air inlet or information on the amount of air leaking from the air outlet and calculates the amount of heat withdrawn from the surface of the battery on the basis of information on the amounts of air coming from the air inlet or air leaking from the air outlet, information about the temperature of air coming from the air inlet, information about the temperature of air leaking from the air outlet, and information about the container outer surface temperature and an internal temperature calculator that calculates the internal temperature of the battery on the basis of information on the amount of released heat and information on the amount of rejected heat. A battery control device and a battery are included in the energy storage system.
EFFECT: opportunity to calculate the internal temperature of the battery with high accuracy.
