SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for generating an aerosol for extending battery life, in particular, to an aerosol generating device capable of prolonging the battery use cycle by changing the cutoff voltage and full charge voltage depending on the battery use cycle. Aerosol generating device is portable and generates an aerosol by heating an aerosol-forming substrate, includes an aerosol-forming substrate heater, a battery supplying power, and a controller controlling at least the charging and discharging of the battery, wherein the controller determines the cutoff voltage of the system based on the history of use of the aerosol generating device. Controller is configured to determine one or more of the cutoff voltage of the system and the maximum charge voltage or the value of the cutoff charge of the system and maximum charge value based on history of use of aerosol generation device, and the controller is configured to increase one or more of the system cutoff voltage and the maximum charge voltage or the system cutoff charge value and the maximum charge value for charging as the use history of the aerosol generating device increases.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase service life of the battery by preventing excessive discharge by gradually increasing the cutoff voltage depending on the number of times when the device is used.
