SUBSTANCE: coating composition of the invention comprises a corrosion inhibiting metal cation and a conjugated double bond compound, containing an indicator compound that changes colour when exposed to a metal ion, or exposed to an alkaline pH, or an acidic pH. Also substrate treatment method comprising applying to at least a portion of a substrate a coating composition for inhibiting corrosion, and a substrate comprising a layer deposited from the corrosion inhibiting composition are provided.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to determine the completeness of coverage of the coating, and promotes corrosion resistance or other operational parameters of the coating.
