FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: composition for applying to a metal substrate comprising a sol-gel or silane and an aqueous corrosion inhibitor containing a lithium ion in the amount of 0.02 g/1000 g of the sol-gel solution to 12 g/1000 g of the sol-gel solution and a counterion capable to form a salt with a lithium ion, the said counterion comprising a carbonate ion and/or a hydroxide ion. A coated product and a method of its production are also provided.

EFFECT: invention allows to obtain coatings that impart corrosion resistance to the metal substrate and provide necessary adhesion between metal and the upper layers of the coating.
