FIELD: physics, measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the design of electrochemical cells for investigating electrochemical systems with in situ spectroscopy and microscopy techniques. A sealed electrochemical cell consists of a housing having a through-cavity for accommodating an electrolyte, a working electrode, at least one auxiliary electrode and a plate, configured for airtight attachment on the side of the lower end of the housing. The working electrode, which is simultaneously a window for spectroscopic measurements, is the form of a graphene layer placed on a porous silicon nitride substrate. In the housing of the cell there is space for placing the auxiliary electrode and a comparison electrode, as well as porous glass for separating electrolytes of the working electrode and the auxiliary electrode.
EFFECT: invention enables investigation of electrochemical systems using in situ spectroscopy techniques, and widens the operating pressure range.
