FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: use: for study of electrochemical systems by neutron and X-ray scattering. Essence of the invention is that electrochemical cell for neutron and X-ray scattering studies comprises a body, consisting of two parts, made with the possibility of interconnection, bath for filling with liquid electrolyte configured to be placed in one of the body parts, auxiliary electrode, made in the form of a plate and placed in the bath, clamping frame, providing securing the auxiliary electrode in the bath through a sealing element, single-crystal plate with a metallic coating, which is a working electrode, single-crystal plate is fixed on the inner surface in the other part of the body to ensure the sealing of the bath.
EFFECT: technical result is ability to detect thicknesses and roughness of thin (about some nanometers and more) layers formed during electrochemical processes on the liquid electrolyte/electrode interface, using X-ray and neutron scattering methods in reflection geometry using a wide variety of liquid electrolytes.
