FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. The surgical instrument includes an end clamp and a staple cartridge which is inserted into the end clamp. The staple cartridge contains supporting material. The supporting material is selectively joined with the staple cartridge. Connecting staples include elastically divergent legs that hinder staples removal due to friction. The connecting staples are inserted into through staple holes formed in the upper panel of the staple cartridge and arranged so as to form an interference fit in the staple holes. A staple-promoting element is used to disengage the connecting staples. The staple-promoting element comprises recesses for staple formation, where connecting staple legs are bent in case of connecting staple release.
EFFECT: document describes the method of surgical staples substrate attachment to the cartridge.
