FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a dentifrice comprising of a pigmental system which includes a pigment that is released during tooth brushing and provides a colour signal to the user when the time of teeth cleaning is sufficient, and to a method of using such a dentifrice. A dentifrice having a pigmental system which comprises a pigment and titanium dioxide is proposed. Herein the pigment is pigment Blue 15:
,
which is contained in a soluble or degradable film, wherein the level of titanium dioxide is 0.01-0.375% by weight of the dentifrice. The dentifrice contains of 1.5-2.0% sodium lauryl sulfate and 0.5-2.0% of a copolymer of methyl vinyl ether and maleic anhydride. A method of cleaning teeth using the above dentifrice is proposed.
EFFECT: the use of the above composition provides the user with a good colour signal when the time of teeth brushing is sufficient and with little staining of toothbrush bristles by the pigment released during cleaning.
