FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a chemical surface treatment of noncrystalline high-permeability microwires with diameter up to 35 microns with glass sheath up to 10 µm, intended for the manufacture of SMA-sensors, in particular to the uniform etched glass shell microwires. The gel contains propylene glycol, water, ammonium fluoride acid, ethyl alcohol, sucrose. The proposed gel for etching has a low toxicity due to a decrease in the concentration of active fluoride ions and a relatively high uniformity of etching.
EFFECT: use of the gel provides the possibility of etching the glass envelope at a high speed up to a roughness of not more than 100 nm, as well as complete removal of the glass shell without the formation of ulcers and uneven etching of the microwire, while the gel has less toxicity due to a decrease in the concentration of the active fluoride ions.
