SUBSTANCE: method involves recording the absorption spectra in chemically pure solutions of samples in the ultraviolet and visible regions. The ionization potential is determined from the relative empirical autocorrelation parameter μ, which is the ratio of autocorrelation functions calculated from the electronic spectrum. The ionization potential is determined by the formula: PI=6.0516+1.57*μ, where is the relative empirical autocorrelation parameter, is the integral of the autocorrelation function in the ultraviolet region, is the integral of the autocorrelation function in the UV and visible spectral regions.
