FIELD: oil refining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for assessing the quality of feedstock for the production of needle coke. First, various types of feedstock are subjected to coking to obtain cokes, followed by determination of the microstructure of the obtained cokes in points. Next, for each type of feedstock, optical density is measured by electron spectroscopy in the range from 280 to 480 nm of the absorption spectrum of the feedstock solution in an organic aromatic solvent. Then, by the concentration of the solution, the absorption coefficient of the solution of each type of feedstock is determined. For each type of feedstock, an integral autocorrelation parameter (IACP) is determined in the ultraviolet range of 280-380 nm and in the ultraviolet and visible ranges of 280-480 nm of the optical absorption spectrum. After that, for each type of feedstock, a relative empirical autocorrelation parameter μ is determined, which is the ratio of IACP in the ultraviolet region to the IACP of the electronic spectrum in the range from 280 to 480 nm of the absorption spectrum. Next, a graph of the dependence of the coke microstructure in points on the relative empirical autocorrelation parameter μ is found for feedstock. The quality of a potentially suitable feedstock for the production of needle coke is assessed by measuring the integrated optical absorption density of a feedstock solution in an organic aromatic solvent by electron spectroscopy in the range from 280 to 480 nm of the absorption spectrum. After that, the absorption coefficient of the feedstock is determined by the concentration of its solution and the IACP and the relative empirical autocorrelation parameter μ are calculated for feedstock. Then according to the received value μ for feedstock using the above graphic dependence, the microstructure of coke is determined in points to assess the quality of feedstock.
EFFECT: simplification and acceleration of the process of assessing the quality of feedstock for the production of needle coke.
