FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to operation of nickel-hydrogen accumulator batteries in autonomous power supply systems (PSS) of spacecrafts (SC), operating at low Earth orbit. In method versions with imbalance AB accumulators capacity and voltage signal to activate backup group of signal pressure sensors and blocking minimum voltage sensor formed AB by corresponding one-time commands from ground control complex, and necessary and sufficient depth of discharge of AB is determined by level of its current capacity and discharge current value. According to one variant filling formed AB is carried out in standard mode cycling until actuation of signal of pressure sensor backup group, wherein nominal level of actuation signal pressure sensors backup group is selected greater than rated level of actuation signal pressure sensors, same sequence of operations for AB is carried out in full repeatedly and signal is switched off pressure sensors backup group of circuit formed AB charge control. According to second version, after filling of formed AB all batteries PSS switched to mode of recharging current exceeding AB self-discharge current using shadowless orbits of SC operation to ensure required power to onboard equipment and accumulator batteries for standard operation.
EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability and durability of operation of nickel-hydrogen battery operation and survivability of PSS without deterioration of its technical characteristics and spacecraft in whole.
