FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to a method of operating nickel-hydrogen accumulator batteries (AB) in autonomous power supply systems (PSS) of spacecraft (SC) operating in low Earth orbit. In the disclosed method, increasing the battery life during prolonged operation is achieved by performing AB cycling in charge-discharge mode, at which the molded AB is held at least once for 24 hours in self-discharge mode when the discharge depth restriction is removed, after which the regenerative battery filled-in mode is performed, which is carried out according to the "hard" logic signals according to the design or specified pressure value of the gas medium, wherein a threshold value of the pressure of the gaseous medium is selected based on the threshold temperature AB, after the completion of the compensation mode, the deep discharge modes are repeatedly carried out with subsequent cyclic filling, after completion of the second compensation mode, modes of limiting the discharge depth and charge of the generated battery are restored, at that, activation of the mode of limitation of the discharge depth by the AB voltage value is performed by single commands issued from the ground control system.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is higher reliability of nickel-hydrogen accumulator batteries in PSS.
