SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for controlling a vehicle engine in order to regenerate a particulate filter when cutting fuel in vehicle deceleration mode. Disclosed are methods and systems for controlling duration of fuel cut-off procedure when decelerating vehicle movement - DFSO (Deceleration Fuel Shut-Off) procedure. According to one example, the method may comprise controlling the duration of the DFSO based on the change in the temperature of the particulate filter.

EFFECT: technical result is improved regeneration of the particulate filter.
