FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: silicone-hydrogel is proposed, prepared from a reaction mixture containing 30-75 wt % of a slowly reacting hydrophilic monomer selected from N-vinylpyrolidone, poly (N-vinylpyrolidone) and N-carboxyvinyl-Ya-alanine; a silicone-containing component that is a monoethacryloxyalkylpoly dialkylsiloxane and a hydroxyl-containing component selected from hydroxyalkyl methacrylates and hydroxy-substituted monomethacryloxyalkylpoly dialkylsiloxanes. The ratio of the half-life of the slowly reacting hydrophilic component to the half-life of the silicone-containing component is, at least, 2.
EFFECT: proposed silicone-hydrogel is made from inexpensive, commercially available monomers and exhibits a high water content, low elasticity, good transparency and oxygen permeability, and the lenses obtained with it are suitable for long-term wear.
