SUBSTANCE: device for skin treatment comprises a light source providing polarized incident light with incident wave polarization, optical elements to focus the polarized incident light into the focal point within the collagen skin layer, a polarization-sensitive detecting module for selectively detected selected component of light polarization of polarized incident light generated harmonics returning from the skin, and a processor, at least connected to the polarization-sensitive detecting module to determine the depth of the focal point within the collagen layer based on the detected selected polarization component.
EFFECT: invention can reduce the side effects of treatment.
