SUBSTANCE: method includes preparing a gas permeable charge by mixing heavy oil residues with a lumpy solid non-flammable material and, if necessary, solid fuel, charging the batch to the upper part of the vertical shaft reactor, initiating in the combustion reactor by supplying a gaseous oxidant to the bottom of the reactor, heavy oil residues in the filtration combustion mode by purging the gaseous oxidant through a layer of batch subjected to high-temperature treatment and excretion From the upper part of the reactor of the gaseous combustion products through a layer of fresh batch charged into the reactor. At the same time, the gaseous combustion products withdrawn from the reactor are directed to combustion when additional oxidizing gas is supplied in excess, and the combustion gases containing molybdenum trioxide fumes are cooled. Molybdenum trioxide is trapped in the form of dust particles.
EFFECT: method provides a high degree of recovery of the target product in the process of processing with high energy efficiency of molybdenum-containing oil residues and the production of molybdenum in the form of trioxide, providing effective subsequent purification and use.
