SUBSTANCE: colour conversion method is proposed that consists in dividing input gradations or output gradations of gradation characteristics indicating the input/output gradation characteristics reproduced in the second conversion unit into gradation segments having predetermined gradation intervals. Then, each of the gradation values of the other gradations of the gradation characteristics is corrected, as a result of which the gradation gaps of other gradations are converted into gaps corresponding to the specified gradation intervals. Then, the first conversion unit converts the image gradation values using the corrected gradation values.
EFFECT: providing a colour conversion capable of reproducing small gradation changes between grid points, reducing the decrease in accuracy caused by interpolation.
