SUBSTANCE: matrix transducer sensor has a two-dimensional array of the transducer elements, connected to the adjustable delay elements for each element. The controlled matrix of the switches combines the plurality of differently delayed element signals to form a Patch signal and to issue a plurality of Patch signals in this way. The matrix of the switches defines the Patch configuration based on the number of the ray former system channels, which completes the ray forming, and the delays of the elements are set based on the configuration of the used elements in each Patch. Patch signal forming may be performed in two stages, including a stage, which comprises a coupled signal combiner. The matrix sensor may operate with the system ray formers of different sizes or with the same set of the transducers used in different sensors, made for the specific configurations of the ray former.
EFFECT: providing the opportunities to configure 2D matrix for operating with different ray formers, while maintaining the high resolution of the received image.
