SUBSTANCE: surgical device includes a tool having an end effector and staple cartridge configured to be inserted into the end effector. The staple cartridge includes staples, staple holes, a resistive element and fluid. The fluid can be depolymerized cyanoacrylate, sprayed thermoplastic urethane, or any vaporizable medicament or pharmaceutical preparation. When connected to a power source, the fluid evaporates, and the resistance element is displaced through the staple holes to the sutured tissue. The power source may be located within the tool. In one configuration, the resistive strip with strip contacts may be electrically connected to the conductor in the end effector.

EFFECT: staple ejectors may include one or more holes to allow the medical fluid passage through the staple ejectors or around them.
